History

Founded in 1920, the Cascinone was one of the most important estates in the area of Acqui Terme dedicated to the production of Barbera d’Asti. Characterized by steep vineyards, which are difficult to manage and farm, down through the years the Cascinone gradually fell into a state of abandon which led to a significant loss of its vineyards. In 2001, the firm was taken over by the Araldica Group, determined to restore it to its original splendour. An extremely lengthy project was undertaken to restore and replant the vineyards, accompanied by the renovation of its cellars and today the Cascinone is the crowning achievement not only of the Araldica Group, but of the entire area. The new facility, which ferments the grapes in its own cellars, was opened in 2004.

The excellence
of Barbera d’Asti

One hundred and two hectares on a single plot of land in the Municipality of Acqui Terme, in one of the most favourable areas for the production of Barbera d’Asti. The Cascinone is a splendid estate standing on one of the most enchanting hills of the Acqui Terme area.

An oenological and viticultural gem of the Alto Monferrato with a century-old winegrowing tradition which lives on today, thanks to an attentive restoration of the ancient vineyards and a valorisation of this incredible terroir.

Cellar

The cellar of the Cascinone estate is given over to valorising the iconic wine of the Monferrato wine growing area, Barbera d’Asti. Presented in three different types, all in the Superior version, the Barbera d’Asti wines produced by the Cascinone are aged in French oak barriques for at least 12\18 months.
